Q: How do I print a colour document in Black & White?

A: It is possible to force an application to send all documents to the printer as "GrayScale" image(ie B&W). In windows, the print dialog box has an area to choose the printer queue. Choose the BW queues to print your document in Black & White. In Linux, programs like the Firefox browser, allows you to choose your print request to be "Grayscale" (B&W) or "Colour" (or Color.) In Firefox, you can set it to Grayscale in the Preferences area found in the Print Dialogue box.

If in doubt, check with others or send email to "userhelp@cquest.utoronto.ca" to ask how to print in B&W. (be sure to include the URL or the name of the application you are printing from.)
